Rabbit Run Wales is back for 2025 and set to be its biggest and most popular yet.
Last year’s trail event completely sold out and race entries are likely to go even earlier this year.
All early bird entries into the original 12K distance have now been snapped up – within just days of going on sale.
With only a limited number of general entry tickets into the 12K race left, runners are now being encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot.
Rabbit Run Wales will return to the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate on Saturday 19 July.
This year sees the addition of a new 40K trail route allowing runners to take in even more of the spectacular south Wales coastline.
As well as incorporating the popular 12K route with its enchanting woodlands, much-loved river crossing and tumble down the Big Dipper – the highest sand dune in Wales, the new 40K distance will allow keen trail runners to experience the natural beauty of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Highlights within the self-guided long route include Ogmore-by-Sea and the cliffs of Southerndown.
Steve Brace, Race Director at Run 4 Wales, said: “This is a popular event which Run 4 Wales delivers in partnership with the Merthyr Mawr Estate and we’re excited to be expanding for 2025.
“We see runners returning to take part year after year and this year we’re expecting to sell out earlier than ever before. With all early bird entries going in just a matter of days, we’d encourage anyone who is still yet to enter to do so quickly to avoid disappointment.”
Early bird tickets are still available for the 40K route and a limited number of general entries are still available for the 12K distance. For children the usual 2K Bunny family fun run, 4K Double Bunny Run for those ages between 11 and 17 and a 100m toddler dash for the under-fives will be taking place once again.
For those who want to make a weekend of the experience, Friday and Saturday night camping packages are available right on-site in Candleston Woods. Pitches cost from £25 per night and campervan pitches are also available.
Runners can also take the opportunity to relax tired muscles in a wood fired forest sauna, with sessions available to book from just £20 per person.
